Jim Wilson has over 40 years of professional experience in the public and private sectors as a lawyer, businessman, and director of a non-profit organization. He is the first Executive Director of the Danville Business Alliance and has served in that capacity since 2008. He has been responsible for implementing the Main Street® Program and converting the DBA to a permanent, full-time community and economic revitalization organization. Under Jim’s leadership, the DBA’s successes include the creation of a downtown master plan; funding nearly $400,000 in business façade renovations; completing an upper floor study that has stimulated both residential and commercial development; working with both governmental and non-governmental partners to improve recreational opportunities and downtown access and safety; enlarging and creating events that are making Danville a more attractive destination; formation of the Danville Arts Council; funding and overseeing a major downtown streetscape project; and cultivating an improved business climate that has attracted over $15 million in downtown investment and reinvestment since 2008.

In addition to his position with the DBA, Jim also serves on the boards and committees of several community and economic development organizations in the mid-Susquehanna Valley, including the Columbia Montour Visitors Bureau, the Columbia-Montour Partnership for Community Development, the Columbia Alliance for Economic Growth, the Danville Arts Council, and the Greater Susquehanna Valley Chamber of Commerce.

Prior to becoming Executive Director of the DBA, Jim had a long career as an attorney with the U.S. Army and later as the co-founder and partner of a mediation group. He is licensed to practice law in New York and Louisiana.
