Making our Treasured Past Come Alive for a New Generation

Each year the Danville Heritage Council organizes the Danville Heritage Festival to celebrate our storied past and make history relevant to a new generation of residents. Centered around Mill Street in Danville with special events at other locations throughout the Danville community, the Heritage Festival is a lively blend of past and present. Held in conjunction with the Fall Arts & Crafts Festival, the event includes living history presentations, historic tours of Danville, live music, vendors, great food, hikes, river walks and much more!

Plan to join us on the first Saturday after Labor Day for a festival packed with activities for the whole family, and check back often for updates and information!

Heritage Festival Highlights

Heritage 5K Run / Walk

Join us for a community 5K run/walk event in celebration of Danville Heritage! The course will be on the Hess Field loop trail On Saturday, August 8, 2026 in Danville, PA. The trail is a scenic wooded path crossing a beautiful creek that features a covered bridge and overlaps with the J. Manley Robbins Trail, the oldest documented rail trail in the United States! The terrain is mostly flat with limited road areas. Miles will be marked.

Heritage Activities

Celebrate Danville’s rich history and enjoy a day filled with living history reenactments, historic tours, live music, artisan vendors, great food, family-friendly activities, educational speakers, and interactive demonstrations throughout downtown Danville. Be sure to visit the Thomas Beaver Free Library and the Montour County Historical Society for special exhibits and programs that bring our community’s story to life. There’s something for every generation to discover and enjoy!
